hello the disco was running fine and then just cut off ,it has gas ,could it be fuel pump ,inertia switch ,or relay ? any test that i can perform to troubleshoot this problem?as always thank you very much....... DRUM

You really ought to have an extra fuel pump relay in your console just for situations like this.
There are two silver relays in the right kick panel. Those power the fuel pump and the ecu. You can swap them, but if the main is bad, nothing works, hence the need for one or two spare relays. The inertia switch is a simple push to reset gizmo, pretty straight forward. Listen for the pump to see if it runs. Check the fuel rail to see if it is pressurized. Have you checked for spark??

came home the next day after work the next afternoon and it cranked right up i let it warm up and drove it to choir rehersal 16 miles round trip cut off once at stop light and made it to my street it cut off i rolled into my driveway now it just turns over want start, does this info help? thank you ....drum

What year is this thing? Almost sounds like a crank sensor.

Where and what am i looking for. Are you talking about crankshaft sensor? Would that be located near the drive belts? thanks for the fast reply...drum

Does the '97 Disco have one? Ahh, maybe in the USA - you got the GEMS engine over there.
The crankshaft position sensor is on the LHS of the block, down near the bell housing. It routes up the back of the engine and connects via a plug on the back of the LH cylinder head (on the P38A GEMS engine so I guess it would be the same on a D1 GEMS).
